Dr. Ho took her time explaining my cat, Zorro’s treatment options to me. She devised a treatment plan after our discussion. Dr. Ho is up to date with all the latest technologies and treatment methods and is very caring. Kudos to Dr. Ho’s assistant, Briana. She is knowledgeable and caring. The entire staff that I interacted with are kind and courteous. I recommend ASC fully and without reservation!
I am posting this review on behalf of my dad.
Hello, I want to share a story about an Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers, located at 9 Executive Blvd. Three months ago, I took my dog there because she was sick. They admitted her and informed me she needed a blood transfusion and other treatments. I agreed and paid $6200 for three days of care.
Initially, the dog showed improvement, but after a few weeks, she weakened again. The doctors couldn't determine why she couldn't retain red blood cells, necessitating another $1500 blood transfusion. Between these visits, I spent an average of $300 per visit.
Three weeks ago, I contacted the doctor as the dog started having seizures, lasting 10 to 15 seconds. After an examination, they changed her medications, costing me around $2000. The dog improved briefly, then deteriorated again.
I informed the doctor about the ongoing seizures, suspecting a possible blood clot from the transfusions. They examined her and three days before she passed, they attempted another transfusion, which sadly didn't help. As her condition worsened, she could only sleep and drink water.
On the day she passed, she had several seizures, and when I rushed her to the hospital, they insisted on a $600 deposit. Despite already spending $12,000, I complied. The doctor mentioned a stroke in her neck causing the seizures, similar to what I had suggested earlier.
Despite this diagnosis, they wanted to charge an additional $3500 to $5000, but considering the prognosis, I opted to take her home. It was evident that they were more focused on profit than genuine care.
It's important to note that I don't blame the doctors or the staff working there. Instead, it's the corporation behind the hospital that prioritizes profit over compassion. Tragically, five hours after returning home, my beloved dog passed away while sleeping on my chest. It's heartbreaking to suspect that they prolonged her suffering for financial gain. This kind of practice is unethical and should be addressed for the sake of other pet owners who deeply care for their animals."
Experience was excellent. My very anxious dog was treated with kindness and compassion. We were seen quickly in the ER. Great advice was given to help with the anxiety and the reason for our emergency visit was handled promptly and efficiently. Highly recommend
After learning about our dog Kaia’s cancer diagnosis and hearing from other vets about limited options to help her, we had a thoughtful vet from our clinic get in touch with ASC to speak to their oncology department and review her labs. ASC called me and said they could make time for me to bring her in, and that Dr. Ho was hopeful that Kaia could receive treatment to prolong her life. I was skeptical, but hopeful. We took Kaia in and Dr. Ho was fantastic. We started Kaia on a chemo treatment plan that we hope will give her several more months with us. They were completely upfront about costs, and potential costs. Further, Kaia loved everyone in the clinic and was totally at ease and relaxed under their care. We are looking forward to our monthly appointments and trust Dr. Ho and ASC completely as we head into these difficult months ahead.
I came in with my dog who was pushed to the bottom of the wait list. Adrianna who was at the front desk had a very poor, unprofessional, and distasteful approach to her customer service. With waiting for 5 hours each time I spoke with her it was very distasteful. I am in visible distress as my dog Marshmallow was infested with fleas, biting into her paws and nose which started to bleed which then also lead to her crying. I begged for my dog to be seen several times where in which Adrianna mentioned being that it wasn’t a severe emergency, my dog would be seen last. She told me on numerous occasions that if it were a big deal I could just take my dog else where, after waiting for 5 hours I expressed to her my impatience and distress with the situation she mentioned “Well, others have waited longer”!
I’m sure that Adrianna’s attitude and actions go against the values, pillars, and standards of this clinic. My hope is that her behavior is addressed!
My dog sat on concrete for 2 hours with a laundry crate over her before I raised concerns and they offered to bring her in and make her comfortable. This is very inhumane and I hope that other dogs don’t have to experience being in humidity on concrete as mine was.
This is unacceptable and I hope that this review/complaint is addressed accordingly
We are so grateful to everyone at ASC who helped to make the time to evaluate and treat our handsome Newfi boy Sampson! He’s been having a rough time these past few months and we’ve been doing everything we can to keep him comfortable but we can only do so much. We’re hopeful that the palliative care he’s receiving from Dr. Siegel and Dr. Rosen will maintain his quality of life, for however long that may be. Thank you Animal Speciality Center and a special shout-out to Karina who knew how important getting Sampson in to see Dr. Rosen was to us and helped to make it happen. ❤️❤️
My dog needed to be seen that day and she was. She had an infection in her throat and is on medication everyone was so nice and helpful. So if you need immediate help go there they are wonderful. And my daughter Bella (maktese) is starting to feel better already. I am so grateful that my baby got the help she needed.
I like you can walk in 24/7. We took our basenji that's diabetic and experiencing respiratory issues because I was in between vets and wanted a qualified vet facility that could give me a diagnosis. It is pricey so be prepared to pay with x rays + bloodwork $1,000. +. I was glad I went and will follow up with a vet practice when I find one I feel comfortable with.
